street 383 build advice please
The time has come to finally show my lt1 some love. My 95 z28 has been sitting for a couple years now with a blown headgasket and tranny issues. Its all basically stock. i'd like to build a forged 383, le2 top end, and rebuilt/strengthened 4l60e. i know dyno numbers sound nice but shouldn't be what i'm aiming for; with that said, i do want a reasonably powerful, well built 383 lt1 which should give me 425? rwhp thru a a4. its a 100% street car but will only get a few thousand miles per year.
I recently read a thread about a guy shooting for 450rwhp from a 355 and most responses were to build a 383 to save rpm and valvetrain wear. So i guess i'm looking for some advice on parts and brands to use from the guys that have experience. as far as a budget, i'd like to be around 10k for engine and tranny. oh and are there any good engine builders or performance shops in Nebraska?
thanks

The motor that propelled this car to 10s is for sale if you want to go with a built motor to drop in. Prob could include tune/PCM/harness etc. Believe the car was around 3300lbs when it ran this.
