Default Lt1 low oil pressure

My oil pressure on my 94 Camaro lt1 is really low

At hot idle? GM says 10psi per 1000 rpm, and 5psi is normal at idle sometimes. Could also be the gauge, check with a mechanical gauge.

As stated, check with mechanical guage. If your oil sensor is just above the oil filter then there is a port just behind the manifold you can use.



It's possible the sensor is bad, however if the mechanical gauge matches what your sensor says, then it's time to take the engine apart...

Define "really low"

Almost every LT1 I've been in, regardless of mileage, idles around the first mark/20psi on the in-dash gauge. Some a little lower. Some a little higher.
