I traded for a 1996 Firebird with a LT1. Has a rod knocking but I got it cheap. Planned to use it as a project build with my Son. Car is in great shape, 108k miles, clean little car. Upon inspecting the RPO codes is appears that it was a 3.8V6 car and someone has already swapped in the LT1. Everything works, (other then the rod bearing) and looks like it's been installed correctly. Funny thing is, I hooked up the code scanner just to see if anything was stored, and it said couldn't detect protocol. I'm new to these cars and this type of engine swap. I'd like to get it driving. Looks like a fun car. Anything I should be looking for? Thanks
