torque specs and sequence for heads on a 94-96 LT1?
#2
Let me see if I can find you a picture of the sequence. You'll want to do three separate sequences of torquing....25-45-65. In the manual it actually has you degree the final torque but the above is fine.
Give me a few minutes and I'll find you the picture out of the Chilton for the sequence.

What year is your F-body? If I am not mistaken the 96-97 LT1s used torque-to-yield head bolts. You should NOT reuse them. They also have a slightly different torque procedure.

Follow the sequnce above in 3 steps of 22, 45, 65 ft/lbs. If you use new bolts and are GM or Pioneer OEM replacements, stick with above specs, If ARP, they will send a spec sheet with it.
MAKE SURE your holes and threads are clean and dry and put a dab of RTV on the first 4-5 threads of the bottom bolts. NOT too much b/c you will change the tq readings.
