Mr.Gasket Exhaust Cutout?
I'm going to be ordering my Hooker Catback from Summit in early September, and since I'm not getting Headers for a couple months after I started looking at cut outs to give me the sound I desired. I found the regular bolt on, and electronic cut outs, but I also found an alternative. And was wondering if anyone has tried or heard of the Mr.Gasket exhaust cutout, apparently it works like a normal cutout but you pull a cord to open it. Anyone have any info on how to install this, or if it's worth the $50 bucks? And would it work with my Hooker Catback?
Heres a link to it at Summit and Jegs

The Mr. Gasket cutout is made of cast iron, that I would think needs to be brazed to the exhaust. It also uses a butterfly valve, which I would think is going to leak like a SOB. The electric cut out would be very cool.

I can't afford an electric cutout, anyone have any recommendations for a regular cut out with bolts and all that? It will be open most of the time so I'm not to worried about it, SD has no emissions or rules on exhaust, unless your running like boom tubes they won't give you crap.

I got my electric flange for $150 about 6 months ago......cant remember exactly where .......i'll try and find out. I know it's the QTP......that's the only brand I know of that makes them.
But what I was saying was get you your basic cutout (Flowtech is good)
for ........what are they $35.....then depending on who does the installation.
I got a cut-out installed $50........it was a homemade one though.
But yea do that.
then when you get the $150 for the flange go ahead and grab you one.
which electric cut-out were you pricing. I know you can get them complete for $189 or so.
good luck

Cool, I appreciate the info, I was a little confused because I thought that you had to just buy an electric cut out, I didn't know you could get a standard one and put power to it. That's what I'm gonna do down the road then. In mid September I will be having my Hooker Catback and FlowTech Cutout installed by a well known exhaust company in town for $75 .
