Default compression math

im trying to figure out how much i need to take off the head to get 10.8:1 compression stock bottom end on a lt1. The machine shop is full of idiots and they can't do the math so im seeing if you guys can put the figures together

my head gasket is .045 compressed

how much needs to get shaved off the head for 10.8:1 compression?

Why not just get the .026 Mr. Gasket gasket which would actually put you over that compression but is cheap and takes the idiots at the machineshop out of the equasion, not to mention actually improves quench which helps detonation resistance.

For anyone to have a chance at helping you with the question you actually asked we would also need to know for sure what heads you are using rather than leaving us to asume LT1 aluminums????????
