Overheatinga at idle, please help
Ok Im pretty sure this isnt normal. I just installed a Jet 180 stat. As long as I can keep it moving it will run up to 180 and stop, everything is fine. However, as soon as I stop, it starts getting hot. It will go all the way past 210 and keep goin until the fans come on. My stock stat never did this at low rpm's, and was wondering if this is normal behavior for colder ones. thanks

If i was you, i would have gotten the 160 stat. Filled up the waterpump with the stat off to the top. PLace the stat in, bolt everythign up. And add more coolant/water if necessary then do the bleeding. Also invest in a manual fan switch OR have ur fans come on at around 200-210 degrees. That was you wont ever have this problem again.
I have a manual fan switch, 160 stat and i always leave my fans on. Only time i turn them off is if im on the highway for a long while.

I started it up w/o the cap on, and the coolant wasnt low at all. I poured a little in the overflow anyway. It seems to be fixed ofr now, I may get a 160 instead and a fan switch if this keeps up...
