Anything Wrong with Running a 160 Thermostat?
I planned on installing my 160 degree thermostat this weekend in my car. Someone had mentioned to me not to because it would not work correctly with a stock tune. So my question is, is it bad to run a 160 degree thermostat on a stock tune. Also are there any other things I should about running a 160 degree thermostat before I install it.
Thanks.

Im sure atune brings it to its full potential not to mention tuning the fans. But I have a 160 in my car with no tune or fan switch and its just fine. Stays much cooler under normal driving, but once you stop its all over, really need the fans to kick on sooner.

I have a 160 stat but also have a programmer that has it tuned and has the fans coming on earlier but yah mine works great and definately keeps my engine running much cooler than it did stock. I say go for the low temp stat and then try to get a tune or program it. You could also snag you a manual fan switch for cheap if you don't have enough money to get a tune now.
