1st Time @ Strip
Thinking of running my car at an open drag night this Friday night. Mostly just to give myself a baseline of what my car is doing right now. Any guess as to what it should muster? Any tips? Does everyone think the fastest time will come from leaving the car in D? OD? Im guessing just load it a little and launch it best I can? The street 245s dont do so good with the 4.10s in 1st.

It will not make any difference in the shifting points or firmness by having it in OD instead of D. The only reason why you may even consider that is if you would be shifting into 4th at the very top of the track. By keeping it in D, you will prevent the car from shifting into 4th, which could hurt your times. Just go on and keep it in OD so that way you don't accidently bump it into 2nd or 1st halfway down the track.

I assume by 1st block you are saying something keeps you from putting it in 1st? My car was factory 2.73 car and it will slip right down past 2nd. What type of time should I be looking for?..I know its not gonna be a ground-breaker, especially 1st time out. But hey, gotta start collecting slips at some point. A little nervous I might do something wrong at the strip, but Im sure i'll figure it out.
