what carrier do i have
i cant figure out what carrier i have in my 95 z28. a series 2 or 3. it came with 273s i think because its and a4 and the first gear was disabled to manuslly shift into. not a hard fix though just a peice of rubber in the way. and if its a series two can i fit 373 in the stock 7.5 10 bolt without tearing it apart. i really want gears. i think it would help out my launching alot.thanks

2.73's = 2 series carrier.
3.23's, 3.42, 3.73, 4.10's = 3 series carrier.

You can check your RPO codes in the glove box to determine what gears you have:
GU2 = 2.73
GU5 = 3.23
GU6 = 3.42
To upgrade to a traditional 3.73 gear on a 2-series carrier (from 2.73's), you would normally need to upgrade to a 3-series carrier first. However, you can specifically buy 3.73 gears cut for a 2-series carrier. For instance, I know ThunderRacing sells them -- scroll down to the Strange Pro-Street gear sets:
