Default LT1 in a second gen f-body!

I'm new to this forum. I just picked up an LT1 out of a 95 Caprice (auto) and am looking to install it into my 73 firebird. I took the computer with me when pulling the engine. The harness I left behind because the bulk head was cut and multiple wires were cut. Would it be worth going back to get and have it repaired and made to be a stand alone harness or just buy an already made stand alone harness. Thanks in advance, great forum here, lot's of info.

I think a nice clean aftermarket harness is FAR superior than some harness you try to put together from junkyard pulls. You'll save yourself much time and aggrivation if you go with an aftermarket. On a junkyard pull, you'll fight cut wires, abrasions, grease and goo, extra wires, and melted or missing connectors. You may end up saving a few bucks going to the junkyard, but with aftermarket, you'll have all new parts and nice pieces.
