Default Tapping noise question

I have a LT1, and I have noticed a loud tapping, not a knock but could be mistaken for it, coming from the driver side under the valve cover. We took the cover off and inspected the springs, lifters, and to better inspect the rods we'll need to take them out. Car has plenty of oil in it, and the oil is clean. I'm not sure what to do at this point? The spring is not colapsed from what I can see so thats a relief. We started it with the valve covers off and it starts tapping at 2500 rpms only under a load will it tap. Idleing theres no tapping. Only if you change speeds or accelerate.

I have to say I'm going to need help with this as I am new at going internal with valves, springs etc. Anyone in the local alabama area are welcome.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Haha, my 5.0 did it really bad once...turned out to be an exhaust leak at the header. Check that?

Mine used to do it found out that my valves had been torqued wrong. Check your torque specs on everything to make sure they are right.

Thats what I originally thought, header leak....yikes, but when I heard it with the hood up under a load I was like ummm thats not a header leak? I will try to listen with a stethescope and see if I can iron out the exact spot. We even took the valve cover off and wow its very apparent. I'll know more tonight. Thanks!
