I'd have run more compression, especially with that big cam. The IVC is pretty late at 75 ABDC. That only gives you 8.06 DCR which leaves a lot of room for improvement, AFAIK. I'm running 11.5:1 in a 355 with a slightly smaller xfi grind and getting 8.7:1 DCR. DCR isn't the end all be all, but just the first thing I noticed. I'd like to see how the superram helps you out. Did you get the beehive 918 springs? There's a guy running that cam in a 396 running low 11's. He loves it.

Yes, I think you need more compression for that cam. Do some searches on DCR and SCR for large cams. It has to do with the IVC of the cam.

Without getting into all the DCR stuff and cam size suffice to say I am running 11.5 static on a stock shortblock, absolutely no detonation problems.

That's good to hear. What DCR are you getting?
