Default 4/7 Swap?

Just curious if anyone here has done the 4/7 swap. Was reading an article about it the other day. Dyno #'s show 10hp difference, just by switching the firing order of 4 and 7. Talked about switching another set also, but I forget which ones. Anyone done this? Said cam manufacturers charge about $30 extra, which isn't too bad. Just have to remember to switch the plug wires around.

Been discussed before. Need to consider magazines have advertizers asses to kiss. I have seen more objective articles claim everyting from 10hp peak gains to 10hp peak gains with greater midrange LOSSES.

If looking to wring the most out of a race setup it is something to play with, fopr a street car don't waste the effort

I personally like the LS1 firing order (origionally came out in 1954 Caddy's). This is a two cylinder swap 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3. These alternate firing order cams help reduce internal harmonics at higher rpm's. I have had nothing but great success with even the 4-7 swap. I use the alternate firing orders on both street motors and race motors. My customers love them and swear by their results.
