Default valvetrain questions

just wondering if it would cuase any problem to take the guideplates off my AFR heads and run slef aligning rockers with stock pushrods? i've got the rockers and pushrods from my last setup (10k miles old) and would prefer to not have to buy a new set of either. just trying to get your opinions.

If you have self aligning rockers you won't need guide plates...MM

What's the rest of your setup? I wouldn't run SA rockers for any kind of serious hp or high revs. Two little tabs aren't nearly enough for me to trust over a nice guideplate.

P.S. I think the guideplates on the AFR's are welded on. You should just get rid of them and run your other setup. Send them to me and I'll get you some nice ported stock castings.

haha...if they can flow in the upper 290's through 550-650 lift i might think about it ;-)

the guidplates aren't welded on...just torqued down with the rocker studs.
