what cause a coil to go bad?

Default what cause a coil to go bad?

well driving the other day and my car spudders and dies well towed home and found out it was a bad coil, the coil is eccel 11 mounths old
I do have my car running little rich can that be the cause?

your wires Arcing could cause your coil to go bad, are they in good condition?

Heat does not help either. I space the ICM bracket out with spacers to help with heat.
