Default prefer lt4 hotcam?

hi i have a 97 ws6 and really want a lt4 hotcam kit. I have stock gears (3.42's)..is that even a good cam? i dont want something too agressive cuz this is my daily driver and only car..What do you guys recommend?

anything will be better than stock, but if you go too big, it will require a tune to get the car to idle decent

It is a mediocre cam and the kit contains springs not really up to the task with the LT1s heavier valves, you have a lot of options for LT1 cams, most of them better than this, but it can work.

Far as 99Z28LS1's comment on a tune, ANY CAM SWAP REQUIRES A TUNE, if you are not going to tune it leave it stock, simple as that.

If you are going to spend the time installing a cam and the money to buy it buy a cam that will gain more power than an lt4

Jesus this needs a search. Hotcam has been debated over and over. It boils down to 3 cams off the shelf for stock heads, hotcam being one.. How far are you going to in the future with the car determines what cam to get. Also a custom is what is most recommended overall.
