Default Timing Set Question......

I was just wondering what makes the lt1 timing gears different from early SBC timing gears besides the water pump drive.

If i was to remove the water pump drive could i run any older sbc timing sets?

thanks for your input

If you remove the water pump drive you can runa a 86-up factory roller cam timing set. Earlier pre-85 TC's aren't compatible with the retainer or bolt circle on the face of the LT1 cams.

A lot of LT1's are using sbc timing sets with electric water pumps.
