What to do with 3000 for most power???
I have a 95 z28 auto with 3.73's, cold air, gmmg's , and a pcm for less tune. I dont know much about lt1's. I learned everything there was to know about ls1's but then realized a nice one is a litlle out of my price range. My question is what can i do to the lt1 for 3000 to add the most power (staying streetable of course) w/out nitrous? I need specifics, kinda lt1 stupid.lol. thanks lot

You could do heads and cam pretty easily with that much money. I would look into Lloyd Eliot. I think his website is eportworks.com. He has several different packages to chose from and even with his cheapest one I think youre still looking at about 360 to the wheels. on lt1 heads and cam and youll find out everything you need.

Couldn't agree more. Definately look into Lloyd Elliots heads and cam packages. I'll be goin with his LE2 setup soon and hope for close to 400whp (with supporting mods of coarse). His setups seem, to me at least, to be the best bang for the buck.

I can't watch my 1080p tv, just this little **** tv they give me up here. (It's better than nothing)
The Lloyd Elliot package does seem REALLY good to me though...and I don't even own a 93-97 car.

I think it would be tough to get all the necessary parts as well as the heads and cam for under 3k? IMHO. I know for myslef i'm doing the le2 h/c and my bill (so far) not including labor time is 3700 with all supporting mods. I would save til you have enough to do a heads and cam the most effective way or just go boost...lol! Good luck.

I'd put $1k into the motor, and find a used Moser 12 bolt...your stock 10 bolt's going to pop like popcorn if you do the LE2 setup (they eventually all **** out anyhow...). Unless you are going after 400+ HP just sitting there
Get a cam for $200, get a 12 bolt and get it installed with 3:73s or 4.11s, new driveshaft with U joints and spend the remaining money on 1.6RRs, pushrods, lifters and install them bitches yourself.
This way, you can beat the living **** out of the car, and not have to worry about blowing your 10 bolt! I think there's gunna be some more people who agree with this (at least the 12 bolt part). So in the future, you have a beautiful rear end that will carry you through your future mods
