Has your car always done this? First, you need gears on that thing. Second, Do you have good programming? Last, hp relies on your heads and cam. You need more HEAD!! and maybe a bigger cam to see the 400 hp numbers.

how about more compression like say maybe 11:1 would be good since its a stroker motor. and definitely need to step up to some 3.73s or higher. and honestly i dont know why you have a th 400. youre losing a lot of power and and picking up more weight too. i would swap back out for a built th 350, get 3.73s and i would say you should be hitting in a low 12 and pulling harder up top.

TH400 and tall gears can limit up top performance also, unless the car was on a tall tire.

Actually, 2.73's are pretty good gears up top. I had no trouble hitting 150 with just bolt ons.
They are sluggish for the most part though, I agree 2.73's stink.

That can be fixed by one of three ways
1) Stall
2) Gears
3) Both!

He should still pull that WS6 with that Engine. Something is up with the Tune or the combination of parts. Mine pulls real good past 100, and it's just a 350 with 3.73's.

your tq numbers do look a little low, but then again its thru an auto and a stall...you're 1/4 mile times look a little low also...hows your tune? and you DEF need a gear...3.73s or so

I'm not sure how the gear vendor overdrive works but that could be some of your problem. Get rid of them 2.73s also.

3 speed trans will have gears farther apart, just adding over drive wont take that lat out of 3rd, with a trans thats originally OD will have less of a drop naturally becouse the trans was geard to have 4 gears

i dont think the gears are that much farther apart on a 400 compared to a 700R4. 3rd gear is 1 to 1 in both of them, and the 700 just has an extra gear after that. they both have 2 gears befor that, and i doubt they are noticably different than each other.

the th400 is pretty close ratios 2.48:1, 1.48:1, 1:1, thats closer than the 4l60e was, but i think i reallly need the 3.73s in back ill see what that does, im goin to get it retuned again as soon as i get my new rear end and NX kit hooked up, then I may get some afr 195s and slightly bigger cam later this summer. thanks

yea, gears will wake the car up some, but might not really help at speeds of the kind you're talking about. smaller gears get you going quicker, but the further you go, the less good they're gonna do. i'd still say try gears, but nothing too steep. stay below the 4.0's.
