Default ~7mpg= WTF?!

Ok, the car is running good but not great. My main problem is I am averaging 7mpg. This is my primary driver and it's killing me. Plugs are good, clean air filters, new fuel filter, walbro 255, stock injectors, the car is tuned in open loop so the o2's shouldn't have any kind of difference. What else can I look for? The a/f is right around 11.6-12.4 and it makes no difference wether I am on it the whole time or keeping it under 2500. Where should start looking to get this thing running better?

If you have a stall that's in the 3K range, I blame that. I know it's not listed, but not everyone remembers what they have! Could be plugs, wires, coil, ugh a few things :\ That's what kinda sucks about LTx. Hard to diagnose with some things.

whats your a/f under part throttle? im assuming the 11.6-12.4 is wot. the tune would be the easiest thing to blame. my car got 11mpg all city with a 9" and 4.11s on a cam bigger than yours and Ai 190s. even that was running real rich. i would have to roll the windows down at stop lights so i didnt fall asleep.

Assuming that's city mpg, I hate to say it but I don't think that's really unusual for a stroker/heads/cam car running in open loop.

Your best bet imo would be to get an economy car with good gas mileage for a daily driver.

Open loop doesnt add or subtract for fuel, i.e. your fuel economy is going to suck, find a good tuner who can tune it to run in closed loop. Also get a stock thermo back in there and increase the fan on temp setting.s

I've got a massive 383 combo, with a 3500 stall. Don't feel bad man I get 9 mpg. All I can say is get yourself a four banger.
