Welding bunds into the radiator hose?

Welding bunds into the radiator hose? I moved my radiator and bought the radiator specifed in this thread

Im trying to get water back into the radiator. When my new rad showed up theres epoxy where the core hits the tank. I dont want to melt that when i tig a fitting on the new rad so im thinking of putting fittings into my hose going back into the radiator. Anyone see a problem with this?
I need to weld a -8 bung on the hose and a 1/4 fitting. Also What hose is the return hose on the LT1. I was thinking the hot side exiting the motor is the hose coming from the drivers side

I just drilled holes in the rad tank on the side basicly where the stock line was comming back from the heads. heres a pic where I drilled them before it was welded.
