Anybody use the Delteq opti replacement?
Okay so ive been doing a little reading up on the delteq opti replacement but it says you still have to use your opti spark, so what is the advantage of getting it? Right now my front end is apart while i am waiting for a replacement opti, but if this will help me not have any to deal with another opti going out.

The optispark does two things: distributes spark, and reads cam/crank position with the optical sensor. The part of the optispark that is most failure prone is the spark distribution half: the cap & rotor. The Delteq replaces this part. You still need the opti so that the PCM can read the cam/crank position and control spark and injector timing.

I have it. ^^^ What he said.
OPTI - optical sensor
SPARK - ignition distribution
----------------------------------------------
- With the delteq, you will still need to keep the optispark piece on the front of the motor although you will no longer be using the distributor portion. There are caps/covers if you want to actually remove that half of it but, thats just for looks.
- You'll also have spark coming from 4 coils instead of one.
- It should make running plug wires alot easier.
