Default just ordered a turbo kit

ordered the sts kit. ive heard mixed opinions about it but i decided id find out for myself.

question is, running 5-6psi of boost on my stock bottom end engine. how long do i have before one of my connecting rods pops out to say hi? is that a safe boost level to get a few thousand miles use out of it while i build a stronger motor?

from what i have heard 5-6 is fine on a stock motor and should not cause too many problems over they short term. Just make sure you dont get sucked in and crank up the boost. It is very easy to do with power adders, they are addictive.

just some 3.73 gears, sfc's, no catalytic converter and a couple other intake or exhaust mods that wont make any difference with the turbo kit.

i had purchased a cc306 cam and didnt install it before i decided to go FI. any suggestions on a decent cam for the turbo application?

Have fun chasing boost leaks. Check out the Forced Induction forum, plenty of exp with the STS kit, mostly LS1, but its more or less the same setup.

Oh an unless the kit changed the pipes run along the car where the SFC's re they may have to be removed, on LS1's they have to be. Check out their site.
