lt1 mod suggestions PLEASE!!!
I have a 1995 pontiac trans am 5.7 V8 automatic transmission. I have around 4or5k to spend on getting this thing running like an animal! It has almost 120k miles on it but it dont seem to smoke or anything. I guess what im needing to know is exactly what mods to do along with all the supporting mods i will need to do. Also which is the best bang for the buck building the engine or putting a supercharger on it? Also it has to be streetable this is going to be my everyday vehicle for the most part. One other question does the lt1's come factory with forged pistons? and if so how much n2o can i push threw it without blowing the motor? here is a list of the mods the car already has installed. A set of hooker competition ceramic long tube headers followed by a set of slp loud mouth exhaust with chrome exhaust tips new MSD wires, new plugs, moroso cold air intake, bbk under drive pulleys. All the help i can get is greatly appreated!

go with 3.73 gears and no on the forged pistons but the lt1's love a 150 shot wet.
i would contact loydd elliot and or advanced induction and talk to them about your goals for the car. they can port your heads and then give you a cam that matches the flow of your heads

I agree with the other guys....Do a head and cam swap and get it tuned...Also since it has 120K miles on it you could always do a rebuild since it has high mileage on it. I'm rebuilding mine right now (at 131,000 miles on the clock), to a forged 383 stroker. The bottom end is gonna cost around 3300.00 plus the h/c package is gonna cost about another 2,000.00 plus all the other things such as gaskets and timing chain and etc. etc. etc. So if your looking at 4,000.00 to spend I'd say save a litlle more and do the whole thing all at once. Whatever you choose to do good luck. Hope it turns out well.
