Can you use a 168 tooth flywheel instead of the 153 tooth if you use another starter? If so, which starter?
Also, wonder if someone makes a spacer that could go between our stock starter and the block to space it out to work with the 168 tooth?

the first problem i can think of is that you wouldnt be able to find an externally balanced 168 but you could get around that with an internally balanced motor. or maybe find someone that could balance the flywheel to your engine

i bought a 383 SCAT stroker kit from rpm machine that came with its' own externally balance flywheel - unfortunatly they included a 168 tooth flywheel instead of the 153 tooth that they balanced the assembly to - just trying to identify my options to deal with this problem.
On another post they suggested I take my stock flywheel and get it balanced to match the SCAT flywheel included with the rotating assembly.
