Default Mass air ?

Ok so the trans am we just picked up has been running really funny like its pulling to much fuel and not enough air... I know it sounds stupid but the car was tuned after the motor was put back together with a mail order tune and at the time it was tuned for a ported and polished mass air but the mass air went bad and was replaced with a stock mass air, ever since then it has ran really rich, do you think its possible the mass air is causing this and i should port and polish this one to fix????

If you could CNC port and polish the "new" sensor to the old ones dimensions that might work but better yet would be to just tune the car for a stock sensor. Porting a stocker accomplishes little more than making calibration far more difficult.

The two N/A cars i have observed that maxed the mass air out were about 500 rwhp. One was my friends sr 396 through a 4l60e w/ 4500 stall and a 9".The other is Ed Wrights car i believe he was just a tad over 500 rwhp.I dont know what that equals in fwhp but you are getting close.
