Default 1997 z28 radiator removal

i cannot get my radiator out! i have all of the hoses and lines disconnected. do i have to disconnect the fittings on the condensor and remove them both at once? in the chilton's book it says that the 98 and up models need both the condensor and radiator removed at the same time but mine is a 97. i thought that the 93 through 97 would be the same as far as this is concerned. i cannot get the condensor separated from the radiator. man, please help!

I have a 96, which i would assume is the same as yours, and you can pull the radiator out seperate, but you have to lean the radiator forward (toward the engine) slightly, then you can take the condensor and pull it up about half an inch and slightly rock it out of the tabs on the radiator that hold it to it, from there it is a piece of cake.

rocky, it just ain't workin'. i do appreciate your help though. can someone PLEASE confirm if removing the radiator from a 97 z28 is any different from a 95? it seems my setup resembles the 98 and up radiator. i cannot get it out without removing the condensor. i have no way of draining the ac. PLEASE help!

do you see the tabs connecting the two? they interlock so one has to be lifted to slide out of the other. figure out which way the tabs are interlocking...

i find it impossible to remove the radiator without disconnecting the top of the condensor. i cannot lift the condensor far enough to slide the radiator out because of the connection at the top of the condensor. this sucks!

you can KIND OF manipulate those lines some, push them a little-you just dont want to put a bend or kink in them. and you can kind of lift the rad and con together to manuever. if you can get someone to help you work it out it would probably go easier
