Default worth getting 4.10's installed in my car?

My friends has a set of 4.10's from his TA that he wants to give to me. Would they be worth getting installed in my stock 10 bolt? or with new axels? or would it be a waste of money?

I plan on 3.73's and 12bolt or 9in eventually.

If theyre free then I say go for it.
No sense in changing the axles tho if you plan on swapping in a 12 or 9 later on

I would do the 4.10's if free and start saving for a 12bolt.

Really it should depend on how you use the car. You can throw any hopes of gas mileage out the windows with those for sure, and if it is going to cost money why not just place that money towards the 9" you want?
