Default Dead car. Help!

yesterday i noticed my speed and tach gauges were twitching a little bit then i got on it a little bit to get around a car and the engine shut off completley. the raido and everything was still on but when i tried to crank it again the fuel pump wasnt coming on and the starter wasnt turning over. i tried to run my autoscanner but it kept saying "failed connection try again?"

yeah the raido still works and all the dash lights. but when i turn the key on the fuel pump isint coming on and when i try to turn it over the starter doesnt turn over. when i was driving it the gauges were twitching about 5mph and 500 rpm and the car felt very weak i was thinking the opti had moisture in it at first but that wouldnt stop the fuel pump or starter.

ignition switch sounds likely, definitely a bad connection somewhere in that area. you could try kinda moving the key around while trying to crank and wiggle any harness you can get to on the column under the dash while trying to crank.
