Default Open Header Question

Im getting ready for my LT header install and i just took my Y pipe off. I have a 95z28 m6 (No o2's after the cats) and edelbrock shorties on there right now. Its not going to hurt the car if i run open headers for a few minutes will it?

I've only ever run open exhaust as far as the y pipe. I have the edelbrock headers right now and with the y pipe uncorked from the cat back is how I run it at the strip. Hasn't given me any grief as of yet but I'm now just gonna start runnig slicks so I be more consistent and I be able to tell if the open exhaust helps or not.

But I think you'll be fine running the open headers I mean after all how many guys run exaust cut out with out a problem? Are the o2 sensors on the headers still? Cause your car will probably just run super rich with out em.

Open headers F T W.How can you swap in headers and not just start it up open headers for a minute or two. It will make all the frustration you had putting them on go away. You will not be able to wipe the smile off your face.

Shorties shouldn't hurt anything, but it'll be really effing loud and probably really annoying sounding heh I'd be similar to running manifolds w/o the Y, and I wouldn't do that lol

Make sure there is nothing around the opening of the header that can melt or catch on fire. The starter power wire comes to mind. Please put your head under the car and have someone floor it too.

Fire that beeotch off man.
I took mine around town a few times, sort of a victory lap.
Louder than a mammer-jammer too. Make sure all 8 plugs & wires are hitting or it'll ruin some of the fun!
Oh yeah.....and if the pets don't like loud noises, have them penned up or you'll be looking for them a couple days.

this, and a breif blast around the block will not hurt anything. Might hurt your wallet if you get stopped by a five-oh though...
