Cable failure..
Im trying to figure out whether my cable is junk, or I dont have it hooked up in the port correctly, or my comp. port isn't setup correctly...Anybody have any tips? Im just trying to read the car, then upload a file...hopefully to datalog after that..Car is in sig.

You have to set up the port stuff in whatever program you're using. Also what OS are you running on your laptop? Try making whatever scanning progam/datalog or whatever run on something older than XP, newer OS seem to be too controlling and it may be messing with it.
I have a serial one with a USB adapter and it took me a long time to figure out how to read the PCM and upload tunes to it. I still haven't figured out how to make a datalogger work with my cable.
