Default 94 formula puttering

Ok i have a 94' firebird formula and it just started to putter under 2200 rpm's when i give it a fair amount of gas. Could this be the opti spark. IT will make this puttering noise but when it gets above 2200 rpm's it is fine. But when i give it gas of the line it will not even do a burnout cause of the puttering.

Could be a number of things... How long since a tune up??? Plugs and wires make a big difference, and old plugs/wires will result in a poor idle, and accelleration.

Are you getting the SES light? If so, have you scanned the ECM to see what's up?

It could be the opti and/or coil too, but start troubleshooting before you start replacing parts.

Are you getting any codes? Did you check your plugs?
