Default Car cuts out at 4500 RPM.

So, the SS is cutting out at 4500+ RPM. But will rev up. to 6000 ( while doing its cutting in and out thing ) then shift and repeat in the next gear. We took the opti off two days ago and found the rotor to have come undone, so we tightened that down after inspecting the disk below the cap and rotor. the disk had a worn ring on it ( obviously from the rotor becoming un balanced and whatnot ). Does this wearing effect the disk at all? Because i think the slices in the disk matter and not the actual balancing of the disk. what else would cause this cutting out? I know that cutting out usually means an Opti, just checking to see if anything else could be a miss.

its the rotor...you need to take the opti apart again and inspect better...make sure the rotor is tight again and all the plug wires are on good and clean the contacts very lightly with sandpaper..thats always been my high rpm miss

the cap is brand new and the rotator is red locktited in so its not moving. there is no corosion on the connectors inside the opti but there was corrosion on the inside of the coil wire.
