Starting Problem
Hey,
I have a 94 Z. My wife drove this car yesterday and today when I went to start it the damn thing just keeps cranking over. I checked the fuses and they all are good? Any ideas? I was wondering if it could be the opti, but does something like that just go bad? Please any ideas would help I am down to one car between 2 people.
Thanks James

Could be a variety of things man. Opti's can crap out that fast, but I'd suggest you scan it for SES Codes before throwing money at it. (I'm assuming your SES light is on)
If you don't have a scanner, you can D/L a trial version of Datamaster for free, and just purchase an ALDL Cable from AKM Cables, or ALDLCable.com -- This will get you going in the right direction.
In the meantime, check fuses again, relays, etc... Have you got fuel pressure? Can you hear the fuel pump fire up when you turn the key to the "ON" position.

I can hear the fuel, and I checked the pressure on the fuel rail so I am pretty sure it is getting fuel. I also checked the fuses all seem to be ok. I cannot figure this out. My check engine light is on but it is one of those things that comes and goes.

whenever i have an engine that just keeps cranking, i go to the basics first. taking a logical approach to things can save you a big head ache. an engine needs fuel, spark, air, and compression. which do you not have?
