Default Think I've Decided On My Combo....

Stock 96 Z28.

Have the machine shop go over my shortblock. Re-ring and new bearings, LE-1 h/c kit, new plugs and wires, new water pump, 1.6 rr's, new pushrods, Pacesetter lt's, x-pipe, spiral flows dumped at the axle, 3600 fuddle converter, CAI, 3.42 gears, and a dyno tune.

I've added it up several times and I come up with about 3700.00. I think it should get me high 300's at the wheels and be good for low 12's to high 11's.
Anybody running a similar combo.

Thanks

Paul

Dont forget a couple hundred alone for gaskets plus head bolts, shift kit, trans cooler, rocker studs and guideplates if going the NSA route, suspension and tires if you want to hook, maybe a TB and work done to the Manifold, etc. etc. It adds up real quick.

I can see that setup reaching your goals assuming everything is setup properly and you can get a 60' in the 1.6 range or so. Maybe something to consider would be to get the larger valves for the LE1 heads instead of stock valves if your set on those particular heads.

You're right on the cooler, and shift kit. Northern Auto sells a re-ring and gasket kit for 325.00 shipped. Already have some 255-50-16 bfg radials. I've got 200.00 figured in there for misc. stuff.

The best/most popular shift kit out there seems to be the Transgo HD2 kit, as a heads up you could probaly get one of ebay for a good amount cheaper than anywhere else. I was able to get mine for $80 compared to $125. Something to check out to save a few bucks.
