96 LT1 computer/flywheel Q's
I am looking into picking up an aluminum headed 96' LT1 out of a Trans Am with a 4l60E tranny. Complete w/harness/computer for $1000.
I need to know if it is possible to use this motor and computer without the transmission and if it will still run properly. Does it need to be reprogrammed or?
Also is there a manual flywheel that will allow the use of a standard push style diaphram pressure plate.
Would also like to throw the trans behind a stock 1972' BBC...does it need the computer to operate alone?
I am not putting this in a camaro or trans am. It is a custom swap and I have all the parts to do a 1st gen sbc swap, but would like the reliability and mileage that the LT1 has to offer.

I picked it up for $800, even came with cooling fans and a driveshaft. Does any one know about the 96' immobilization feature and how to work around it? Also how to delete computer transmission controls to make the computer stand alone for the engine only?
