shim slave for ls7 clutch?
I have a 2000 trans am ws6, original engine, bellhousing, and transmission, is there any necessary reason to shim my slave cylinder if I install a ls7 clutch kit? (Ls2 steel flywheel, ls7 clutch&pp). Brand new gm master and slave.
Thanks a lot,
Michael

didnt think it was necessary, seems my pressure plate on my ls7 clutch has gone out after 5,000 daily driven miles... had somebody trying to tell me it was cause the slave wasnt shimmed... it wouldnt have driven perfectly for 5,000 miles and then all of the sudden need a shim lol.

when i did mine i searched through a few threads that said u needed to do different stuff to the LS7 clutch before installing it. and talked to a few people that said they installed it without doing anything. i put the clutch in my car just as it came with no shimming, spacing or anything else before i put it in and it works great
