When changing the clutch master on an 02' Camaro, there is that metal thread keeper that prevents you from pulling out the right hand bolt. Well ther is that braket that sits over the keeper so you cant get to it. Does anyone know how to take that braket off? Is there an easier way than to just start taking the whole pedal assembly off?

Just pull the bracket thats over it back a little bit to gain some clearance. Then take a pair of sidecutters and grab the "keeper". I don't actually cut it, just use the side cutters like a pair of pliers. Yank the sidecutters and it will break the keeper off the stud...you won't need to put it back on.

I used the claw of a hammer and pulled it up high enough to where it rested on the end of the stud. Then I just simply cut the star off.
