Default 99 Z28 Camaro Gear Grinding?

I have a 99 Z28 Camaro 6-speed with 75,000 miles. The car still has the stock clutch. When I come to a stop and push the clutch all the way down, sometimes it will grind into first gear before take off. Other times it will not go into first unless put into another gear and then back into first. What could be the problem? Please help! I do not want my t56 to stall me in the middle of nowhere!

Check the fluids, and check if the clutch fluid is burnt. You may need some new hydrolics...I couldn't slam second gear for a while, but then after I got the new clutch and hydrolics, boom. Back how it used to be. Bleed the system, maybe replace the slave and master. Could also possibly be the crush bearing or pilot bearing. Hopefully someone with more experience can chime in. I maybe be off though, and worse case, rebuild the t-56.

I'm having the same problem (except 2nd gear is where my problem is). First thing I'm going to do is bleed the system, then mybe check the pilot bearing, but you know you have to pull the unit from the car to check that. So It's probably not going to be a quick fix if the later is the case. Worse case is probably the syncros. But nothing is going to be to horrible in price.
