i've been having shifting issues on and off with my car. sometimes it felt great and crisp other times i would hear a grind.

i was thinking about taking it out and rebuilding it myself, but didn't get to it yet.

last night i was racing someone from 2nd gear, power shifted to 3rd, think i heard a little crunch, then went to hit 4th and it just made a grinding noise. i let off, put it in 5th. then i went to downshift later and 4th isnt there. same with 3rd.

did i damage the infamous 3/4 fork?

or are the gears screwed now?

Yeah its probably going to need to be looked at pretty soon.

you are lucky... when i busted my 3/4 slider, only thing i could get it in was 4th lol

Sounds like you rounded the Engagement Teeth off of the Slider and the Input Shaft, and possibly tore up the Fork Pads. Is 4th completely gone or does it just grind?
