Default will a 98-02 t56 fit a sbc?

thinking about doing a th350 to 6-speed conversion in my 68 camaro. will a 98-02 t56 fit or does it have to be a 93-97 t56 and why? any help much appreciated!

Not as is.. You'd need to use a Muncie Bell/clutch/linkage setup with a 98-02 T56 AND the tremec adapter plate, or use the 93-97 T56 and use the LT1 hydraulics/bell/clutch..

T56 versions into older GM vehicles

The new Magnum T56 is suppose to offer a much better platform for doing these older GM upgrades, since the strength, shifter locations, and speedo options are more flexible than what the OEM T56s allow.
