Well, I will stick with what is called for, ATF. I use Castrol Dexron VI (upgraded version over Dex III).
Now, here is the thing with Synchromesh, it IS thicker, so long term use, who knows what it can do? Especially in colder weather.
There is a thread right now going on, guy is having problems with tranny...running Synchromesh. Now, do I know that it is the cause of it? No, sure don't.
What I can tell you is I don't see enough "long term testing results" out there to prove to me that Synchromesh should be run in our trannies. Again, especially if it calls for ATF to begin with.
Would you run 20W-50 weight oil in a motor that calls for 5W-20?

Tremec advises against using DexVI no matter what brand. Only DexIII according to them is the only approved. Just my 0.02.
Oh and they say Mobil 1 is the only synthetic approved by them.
