Default tranny questions

i am in the process of doing a 3rd gen ls1 swap and i was wondering could i use a t56 out of a lt1 camaro??? also i am not to familiar with the t-5 out of the irocs??? and i was also wondering about using a t-400 but dont know were i can find a tranny cross member.. thnks also what do you think will be the best this car is mostly for the drag strip will barely see the street -

i know there are companies that have kits to do this swap. or you could piece it together but will probably cost you more in the long run. sorry i dont remember the co's names that sell these kits, i do remember reading in magazine's like c-c, and h-r. good luck i always wanted to this swap in my 83 z, sadly i sold it last year.

You can use an Lt1 T56 in the car with the right bellhousing, flywheel and clutch kit. We use to do quite a few conversion on the 3rd gens with the LT1 unit.
