5&6th gear noise think I broke it I think I broke my trans, but the sound it coming from the rear of the car but its only in 5th and 6th gear si thats why Im leaning towards the trans. The rear makes noise in turns, and what sounds like rear end howl in 5th and 6th only, but why in 5th and 6th?? Shouldnt it make noise in all gears if it was the rear?? Why would it sound like its coming from the rear?? WOuld the rear only make noise in 5th and 6th?? Maybe its only in that cruise rpm range that the rear is making noise? Hoping it fixes itself but doubting it will.

If your clutch is going out, it will first show in 5-6 gears.. Get on the hwy and punch it to see if the engine revs faster than the car.
Otherwise, 5-6 are basically independent from the 1-4 front section of the trans, and either the 5-6 cluster or 5-6 extension could have bearing/spline/gear issues that wouldn't show in 1-4 gears.

Yeah hopefully its just the cutch because I smell it burning after a long cruise in 5ht or 6th, but why would it make that noise hopefully its just clutch chatter and not the gears. but it sound like gear whine to me
but I bet powershifting dosent help the clutch much at all.
