worn out spec stage 3, what options
I bought this car used with alot of mods,It has a spec stage 3,I don't know the mileage on the clutch but I would guess around 7-10k miles, it just started slipping in 5th and 6th gears on the highway.I pulled the trans. immediatley to inspect. The flywheel looks pretty good, minor heat marks and about .004-.005 wear. The disc is worn down pretty far but not in the rivets,The pucks are not coming apart from excessive heat, just worn.Pad thickness is around .286 The pressure plate has around .010 wear. I hope the guy's from spec can chime in on this one.
What are my options
#1 flywheel should not be a problem to resurface.
#2 Can the pressure plate be resurfaced enough to flatten it out.
#3 I have read on other posts that you can buy a replacement disc only.
Is it possible to return this unit to spec. for rebuilding.
400rwhp cam only,strange 12 bolt 4.10's full weight 1999 formula.
Mostly a street car,but will see occasional track use. 3-4 times per year for test and tune. If the pressure plate is reuseable would the 3+ disc work with it. Would the 3+disc be better suited for what I am doing. Thanks guy's I am still learning on the ls1 stuff.
