Default Is this a GTO shifter???

I just picked up a M12 T-56 and it had this shifter on it... It had the longer shift cup also. This just doesn't look like all the other GTO shifters I have seen. Did someone bolt on an F-body shifter??? I'm trying to sell it and want to know so I can give an accurate desciption. Thanks!

That's a fbody hurst shifter on a GTO offset lever. You can see where someone has ground on the bottom of the shifter to allow it to engage the longer offset lever.. It might have worked, but it wasn't a correct pairing...

Thanks... kinda what I figured. People do strange things! Is the Hurst shifter any good? I was going to change the cup/lever and buy a new shifter, but if this is a good shifter and I can just change the cup then I may consider that... Any thoughts?

If you're selling it, I wouldn't bother buying a new shifter. It's better than stock and doesn't appear to be damaged by the "mod". Replace the offset lever with a F-body one (It'll come with a new plastic cup) and sell away..

Thanks again! I am actually putting the trans in my Silverado pretty soon, and was going to get a pro-5.0 and F-body lever, but I guess i will just change the lever and run this shifter since i already have it. I appreciate your help!
