im workin on the same swap right now. You can do the swap without getting a new harness and pcm. its alot of work to switch one out. Do some research before you start so you dont get pissed and give up on the swap.

I found it to be much more simple to just swap the PCM and harness. It seems like a lot of work to change out the harness, but it's really not. It's maybe a half-day job if you don't have much exp. It gets very time-consuming to cut and splice wires and modify the harness. When you swap in the correct harness, everything is there to plug right in, and there's no chance of a wiring mistake.
When I had my 99 Trans Am like 8 years ago, I went from A4 to M6, then a year later went back to an A4. I swapped the pcm/harness each time & no problems

yup, read through the stickies and you can knock it out pretty easily. Everything that i needed to know for mine was all in that sticky.

I took my time and went away for school so it took me about a month or so to do it, but i had a daily driver so i took my time. If i needed to do it quick, i could knock it out in a weekend.
