see i have a 98 camaro with a head/cam ls7 with manual and at this time i ran a 10.3@135 with a 1.43 60ft and i have alot of suspension adjusting todo but i really want to shift into the 9s with a all motor!!!! so i need a trans that can take the beating, but i dont think i would ever run a faceplated trans cause i drive it on the street alot!

The faceplated trans will help you the most at the track, but if you are against it, the triple/double synchro units like the RPM Super T56 will be the best street/strip trans. They can reliably shift out to 8000rpms and can handle power transfer between shift better than a standard F-body single/double cone synchro unit.

One thing you really need with a faceplated transmission is a shifter with a good strong spring in it. One of the things about faceplating you have to be careful with is if you are WOT in 2nd gear and go to bang 3rd and accidently go to 1st, it's going into 1st gear no matter what. That can make for a VERY bad day. But if you are a good at bangin the gears and have a good strong spring in your shifter to center it back to the 3/4 location you won't have any problems.

I don't really think it would. When you run C6 ZO6 T56 gear ratios, they're the same ratio's as 94-2002 F-Bodies, so the amount of gear contact is the same. The main shaft diameters are only different in the back end of the trans, they're really similar before the splines that form the output section of it.
I'd say parasitic loss from a 94-2002 F-Body T56 versus a C6 ZO6 T56 conversion would be exactly the same, and adding a 32 spline SSR main shaft should still be exactly the same. The synchro's shouldn't have any effect on that at all.

I started a similar thread about this a couple of weeks ago and would like to know what clutches can handle 750+ while facilitating quick shifts. I already have a freshly rebuilt T56, although the SSR upgrade would be awesome. I plan on running the Tick MC but I don't know what clutch to buy.

I got A LOT of passes on my old stage 4 Six speed inc build, and for the last 2 years straight I have shifted it 7500 during my UMTR races, and have shifted as high as 7800 looking for my quickest pass.
The best things I did for high rpm shifts was, Centerforce clutch, amsoil trans fluid, tick master.
I also got a faceplated trans sitting waiting on my new race car to get done, so I will see how this faceplated stuff works, also got a Mcloud Sof Loc to go with it.
so good luck with your new setup!
