Default Hard to shift into 1st, 3rd, 5th, and reverse.

Maybe someone has an idea on this. Why would it be hard to shift into my top gears in my 6 speed, 1st, 3rd, 5th, and reverse, but easy to shift into the bottom gears, 2nd, 4th, and 6th? and when I mean hard, I have to use some force to put them into those gears, or they pop out, and grind.

Tighten your shifter bolts.

Is this an aftermarket shifter? If so, your rear stop may need to be adjusted.

This has also acted up on me before - but worse when it was below freezing outside, but... I suppose cold weather is not your issue.

Its aftermarket. Some parts on it were broken, but thanks for the help guys. I appreciate it.

If its a Hurst, you can have it sent back to them for repair and a rebuild.
